Frequently asked questions
How reliable is Hausa transcription?
It works well with clear audio and one person speaking close to the mic. It is less reliable with noise, music or several voices at once. This language is “in testing”: always review the text.
What if Hausa is mixed with English or French?
That works, but the chosen language is favoured: passages in another language may be transcribed less accurately.
Are speakers separated?
Not yet for this language: the text is split by time, with timestamps, but without “Speaker 1 / Speaker 2”.
Is it free?
Yes: 3 files per day (up to 30 minutes each) are free, no credit card needed. Pro removes these limits.
Do I need an account?
Yes, a free account, no credit card needed. On this page your email is enough to start: you receive a confirmation link and the transcription starts automatically. To sign in again later, set a password with the “Reset your password?” link on the sign-in page.
Do my files stay private?
Yes. Your files are only visible to you, stored in Europe (Germany), and you can delete them at any time. Transcription is processed, only for the time needed, by our providers in the United States.
